Transformative Pilot Action (TPA) Project on Bioenergy for Boryslav
The goal of the project is to carry out Transformative Pilot Action (TPA) to increase the level of energy efficiency and sustainable use of bioenergy in Boryslav Gymnasium No. 9 within the action research and implementation program in Boryslav (Lviv region) launched by the Center for Development and Environment (CDE) / University of Bern (Switzerland) in the cooperation with Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), Ukrainian National Forestry University (UNFU) andBoryslav City Council
To achieve the goal, the following tasks will be implemented:
1. Purchasing of materials for Boryslav Gymnasium No. 9:generator;electric chainsaw;window and door blocks with subsequent installation, etc.
2. Editing and printing of an executive and brief bilingual (Ukrainian-English) flyer.
At the end of the project scientific publications of results will be prepared jointly by UNFU, CDE, WSL, and ForestCom – focusing of this methodology on Action Research and Implementation on “Bioenergy/Energy efficiency on the communal level in Ukraine on the example of Boryslav City Council and Drohobych district”.Results of ерші innovative action research project will be used for university education in REAL WORLD LAB jointly with Swiss and Ukrainian students.
The implementation of the project became possible thanks to the financial support by WSL and other Swiss support and is based on the previous cooperation of partners within the framework of the implementation of the project “Identifying of green energy opportunities in the Ukrainian Carpathians”, which was part of the project Kooperation in der Waldforschung Ukraine-Schweiz 2017-2020.
