Observation of bird migration in the Northern Podillia National Nature Park.

On September 23, NGO ForestCom team under the leadership of Petro Hryniuk, ornithologist of the nature park were observing the migration of birds in the Northern Podillia National Nature Park.

The weather was not very favorable for the flight of birds, but we managed to observe the migration of 43 species of birds. There were osprey, great cormorants, pied flycatcher, wood lark, and common goshawk. The most numerous were the sparrowhawk (227 individuals), the common swallow (140 individuals) and the white swift (51 individuals).

The flight of birds is a fascinating phenomenon that is difficult to tear away from, because flocks of various birds fly overhead, which are going to warm regions. Our experts had the pleasure of plunging headlong into it, as well as admiring the beauty of Mali Polissia from Mount Menych - the observation point of the "Wonder of Menych" eco-trail.
