The ForestCom NGO planted trees on the territory of Kolodenetsk gymnasium

Taras Kharachko, the head of the "Forest Restoration Center" of the ForestCom NGO have visited the Kolodenetsk gymnasium to plant trees on the territory of the educational institution together with ninth-graders.

“The tree-planting event, as an element of the improvement of the school territory, was planned to be held with students of the ninth grade of the Kolodenetsk gymnasium in the Lviv region. I wanted to tell students about eco-volunteering as a way of learning, an opportunity to travel, get to know each other, and communicate. This approach allows for the formation of environmental awareness and the desire to do good in young people. Unfortunately, the air alarm brought everything to nothing” - said Taras.

We decided not to postpone the planned and after waiting for the air-raid alarm to go off, we planted tree saplings together with the employees. It turned out to be no less interesting, because despite the landscaping of the school territory, everyone learned about the advantages of seedlings grown in containers over those dug from the ground; the reasons for the yellowing of small scaly twigs and their fall on thuja trees in autumn; rules for planting trees and caring for them.

Together, they planted several dozen seedlings, which were donated to the institution by the Kolodentsi Decorative Nursery. They are already decorating the school grounds, and in time they will form a small hedge near the gymnasium.
