The second "Book Birdhouse" has opened in Stryisky Park!

Stryiskyi Park continues to develop as a cultural and ecological center of Lviv. This week, the NGO "ForestCom" invited city residents to the opening of the second “Book Birdhouse” – a stylized mini-library for bookcrossing. This is not just a wooden shelf, but a real book oasis, where the magic of nature meets your favorite stories. Now you have even more space for bookcrossing: leave read books, find new exciting stories and share kind messages with other readers.

This initiative is part of the large-scale project “Book Oases of Stryiskyi Park”, the goal of which is to popularize reading among children and adults, increase the level of eco-education and create cozy places for relaxation. The first such “birdhouse”, previously installed on the central alley opposite the playground, has already become a favorite place for book sharing and meaningful leisure.

Why is this important?

The project creates a unique space where literature is intertwined with nature. As the organizers note, the “Book Birdhouse” is not just a shelf for books, but a place of peace and connection with the environment, where everyone can find refuge from the city bustle to the singing of birds.

Social and environmental responsibility:

Materials: All book huts are made by the social workshop “WoodLuck” from environmentally friendly materials that do not contain harmful chemicals.

Social mission: The workshop “WoodLuck” employs veterans and people who have undergone rehabilitation, helping them return to active life in society.

Activities: The opening is traditionally accompanied by eco-educational activities, quests for children and an entertainment program that teaches kids to love and protect nature.

How to get involved?

The project is implemented with the support of partners and thanks to voluntary donations from individuals and businesses. Everyone can support the initiative:

Bring a book. Leave your read stories in the "birdhouse" and take new ones in return.

Make a donation: funds are collected to install new mini-libraries in different corners of the park.
